Mechanical engineers require a solid understanding of key concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, energy and manufacturing. They use these principles in the design and analysis of automobiles, aircraft, heating and cooling systems, buildings and bridges, industrial equipment & machinery, and many more.


B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering is a comprehensive degree programme. The goal of the mechanical engineering curriculum is to create a flexible undergraduate educational experience in design, mathematics, modeling, computing, management, engineering science, humanities, social sciences and fine arts. Principal study topics include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics & heat transfer, solid mechanics, materials engineering, manufacturing, energy systems, dynamics & control Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and others. This broad and supple programme allows students to customize their choices to meet their objectives and particular career goals. Students can be prepared for technological career in industry, graduate school or management. The students can utilize this program as a launching pad for professional career in business or public service.

Workshop :-

Mechanical workshop is the base of a mechanical engineering department. All technical works like carpentry, fitting, welding, foundry and machining with the help of tools and machines like lathe, drilling, milling and welding can be done in the workshop. Lots of tools like hacksaws, chisels, hammers, files, are used. Basic idea is to aware the students about the tools and machines so that they can work very efficiently on them.   

Machine Drawing :-


Machine drawing lab students learn about the technical drawing of any machine part, its assembly and sub-assemblies. They have to draw the parts with the exact dimensions and details as given in the drawing.


Material science and material Testing Lab:

 This lab is concern about the properties of engineering materials like steel, aluminum. To check their properties like stress, strain, strength various machines are used like universal testing machine, fatigue testing machine, hardness testing machine, impact testing machines are used. Where as to examine and study the chemical composition and the chemical structure of the material micro scopes are used.  


Kinematics of Machines Lab:

 Kinematics of machines lab the motion of the rotating or reciprocating parts of machines is understand with help of models and running equipments like cam follower apparatus, dynamometer apparatus breaks and clutches models.


Dynamics of machines Lab:

Dynamics of heavy machines like engine parts, heavy springs,couplings,levers can be understand in this lab with the help of mathematical calculations and formulae. This lab consists of various machines like gyroscope,journal bearing apparatus, static and dynamic balancing apparatus.


Production engineering Lab:

This lab is the backbone of a mechanical engineer. Whole process regarding the production can be understand and product can be manufactured in this lab by means of machines like lathe, milling,drilling. Casting can be done with the help of foundry and molding process.


Automobile Lab:

The automobile vehicle,its assemblies and sub-assemblies can be understand in this lab. to assembly and disassembly the parts of an automobile is of great concern. Other then that some instruments to check weather the vehicle is running smooth or not like wheel balancing machines,injector testers are also there to enhance the technical knowledge.


Thermal engineering Lab:

apparatus regarding the study of the flow of heat are of great concern in this lab. this lab consists of boilers, i.c. engine, heat exchangers models, to give the students the perfect knowledge about the flow of heat in various machines.


Fluid Mechanics Lab:

The flow of fluid and  its properties like energy,velocity,pressure can be examine in this lab with the instruments like, venturimeter, Bernoulli’s apparatus, notch apparatus, Orifice meter, flow through pipes apparatus, friction in pipe fittings apparatus etc.


Heat Transfer Lab:

In this lab our main concern is to know the transfer of heat in actual condition in the apparatus like pin-fin, conduction, convection and radiation apparatus, pool boiling apparatus etc. which gives the exact idea about how heat is transferred from one point to another.


Turbo Machines Lab:

 fluid flow in heavy machines like turbine, compressors are examined in this lab with the help of apparatus like pelton and Kaplan wheel turbine, single stage reciprocating compressor etc.


Industrial Engineering Lab:

The actual working condition in industry is examined herewith the help of various studies like time and method study, stop watch study. the aim is to develop the students so that it can work in actual industry situations.


CAD Lab:

Computer aided design lab is concern about the software which is required for designing and manufacturing of the components like auto-cad, solid works, cattie, ansys. to show the simulation and analysis of the actual rotating and reciprocating machines can be seen in various software’s.


CAM Lab:

Computer aided manufacturing lab is concern about the automatic machining with the help of NC and CNC machines, a program is generated in the computer and by help of simulation software a CNC machine works automatically according to the program and give finished product according to drawing.
